2007 – 2008
Sunday, September 16, 2:00 p.m. – Opening of our new exhibit, “Digging Up Stamford.” Ernest A. Wiegand will be speaking on his excavations in Stamford.
Saturday, October 13, 1–4 p.m. – “Touch-a-Truck:” Learn about new and old vehicles, hands-on! Trucks include police, fire, military and construction vehicles. There will be face painting and snacks for sale. Admission to “Digging up Stamford” is included in the entrance fee. Admission $5/person (ages 4 and up).
Sunday, October 21, 2:00 p.m. – Founder’s Day Lecture. State Archaeologist Nicholas Bellantoni will be the featured speaker at this lecture. Admission free to Historical Society members.
Sunday, November 4, 3–5 p.m. – Victorian Tea: “100 kisses" letters from Mary Ann Dickinson Smith. Guest lecturer Rachel B. Moskowitz. Admission is $15.00 per person which includes the program, Tea and the current exhibit, Digging Up Stamford.
Thursday, November 15 – Lord and Taylor Charity Bash. Shop all day at a 15% discount to benefit The Stamford Historical Society. Tickets are available for $5/each. Contact the Society at 329-1183 after September 12th.
Sunday, April 13 – Exhibit Opening: Lost Streets of Stamford. This exhibit of photographs depicts many of the streetscapes and structures of the downtown area prior to Urban Renewal.
Saturday, April 26 – Annual Gala, Hibernian Hall.
Thursday, June 12 – Spring Trip to the Florence Griswold Museum, Old Lyme. Details
Monday, June 9, 2007, 7 p.m. – Annual Meeting of The Stamford Historical Society. With recognition of Stamford's State level winners of the 2008 National History Day competition. The Theme: Conflict and Compromise in History.
