No more snow! Instead, here is downtown Stamford in 1927:
View of Park Row as seen by Artist Bailey

Park Row does not exist anymore today, it was swallowed up by Urban Renewal. It began approximately where the Atlantic Street garage entrance of the Landmark building is now. As one can see from the text of the clipping, the view in the sketch is towards the Strand Theatre, next to the then under construction "New" Palace Theater.
Park Row connected Atlantic Street with that section of Main Street which is now underneath the Stamford Town Center. The Strand Theatre building across the street was replaced in 1968 with the Kiwanis Park, now the open passage between Atlantic and Lower Summer streets.

Aside from the Strand Theatre, which can be seen in this 1933 photo, the above clipping also mentions the Hartwell Delap Clothing Company. Here is the delightful article from the Guide to Nature (1912) about Mr. Judson Delap's country cottage on Den Road: A Woodland Home Made of Packing Boxes.
(Reference file: Bailey 281.jpg, Whitman Bailey Collection. Our usual warning about the historical content of the clippings does not apply here as The Advocate simply added a description of the street scene to the sketch.)
