The Doll Lady of Wilton, Mary Lou Logan, will be our guest speaker for the Victorian Tea to be held on Sunday, November 7 at the Society. In keeping with our aim to tie our program to the subject of the current exhibit, Ms Logan is the perfect choice for this year's speaker.
Mary Lou Logan is the Doll and Toy Curator at the Wilton Historical Society. She is also on the curatorial staff of the Lockwood Mathews Mansion Museum in Norwalk, serving as guest curator for their Christmas exhibit. Her association with the Stamford Historical Society includes being a co‑curator of our toy exhibit, Kids' Stuff: the Lives of Children's through Their Possessions. She has also restored some of the dolls in our collection.
In her presentation, Ms. Logan will speak of the history of dolls as well as the collecting of dolls. She will show us samples from her own collection.
The exhibit will be open for inspection from 1:30 until 2:00, when the program will begin.
Tea will be served at 3:00.
The Shop Downstairs will be open.
Your Guests, including children ages 8-18 are cordially invited too. Tickets entitle you to view the exhibit as well as enjoy the program and Tea.
